We took the road from Guane to Barichara which implied walking uphill more during the two hour hike. It was amazing, the view made it all worthwhile. I recommend taking plenty of water and protecting yourself from the sun

The walk is fairly easy for the average person as long as you're prepared for the sun. There are farms along the way that sell drinks if you wanted. The views are stunning. Take the walk to Guane, get a refreshment there and take the bus back to Barichara.

Really nice walk which takes about 2 hours whith a moderate walking. If you start from Barichara you only go down the whole time. Doing the walk during the hottest time of the day is a little hard but still very possible. Nice view, trees and birds to see aswell.

It's very kindly, I recommend to take a microbus in mainly square and explore the entire town.

A brilliant countryside walk to Guane, a small town with its own charm. Solid shoes, water and sunscreen are all you really need (and a camera of course!). You can always walk back to Barichara but a 15,000 tuk tuk ride back is 10 minutes. Expect 2 hours at average pace.

6km hike from Barichara to Guane, mainly downhill. Very hot with little shade so start early. Its a broad path with big stones so not the easiest to hike. Guane is a tiny little town with a small square and some places for a cold drink. A bus back to Barochara leaves every hour.

Love this two hour walk from Barichara to Guane. It's almost all covered by cobble stones and downhill, apart from the first descend from Barichara which is relatively steep (still safe as the stones are non-slippery), it is quite an easy walk. Be aware of the sun, better to bring enough water and hat to block the sun. The walk is very quiet, and passed by a few fincas where you can buy drinks or food. It is easy to follow with only a few cross paths, but it's all marked in yellow arrows stating 'GN'.

Highly recommend place to visit in Colombia, by far is the most beautiful town in the country.
