I bought a coat as a Christmas present for my father at this shop, and the owner could not be more friendly and charming. I specifically asked if I could have a refund, should the coat be unsuitable, and he said yes. I did have to return the coat, and the owner was incredibly unpleasant about the whole situation. Firstly, even though it was after 9am when the shop was supposed to be open, he shooed me out of the shop and told me to return in half an hour as he claimed his machines were not ready. I did just that, and he still kept me waiting outside for 10 more minutes. Then he said it was difficult for him to refund items as he was an independent retailer, why couldn't my dad pick out something else from his shop, he wasn't legally obliged to refund me and that he was bending over backwards to accommodate me. I was astonished at his attitude! His manner was incredibly rude, and made me feel awful for simply asking for a refund. I reminded him that he said he would refund me at the time of purchase, which he did acknowledge. He was more than happy to take my money but made me feel like s*** for returning it. I absolutely felt bullied by this horrible man. I just want people to know, don't buy items from here if you think you may need to return them for whatever reason.
Very run down store in Barnet High Street. I usually attempt to support local independent businesses however after a thoroughly unpleasant encounter concerning a return with I presume the proprietor I have vowed never to return there again. Take my advice folks and stick to chain outlets like millets, Black's etc who understand what customer service is. Give this aggressive Fagin type character a very wide berth.He would rather cut off his own hand than give you a refund.He offered me a credit note to spend on " a wide selection of merchandise"? Update-hardly surprised that this business had now CLOSED D OWN!!!
Great value, very friendly, a lot of choice , one of the few remaining shops that knows their Trade and provides value with experience run by the owner. thanks for your help we are nice and warm in the cold and ready for our festivals! All the best Tom
Excellent value and service. There are very few places left where you can buy two high quality branded adult winter coats and have change of 100. Definitely worth a visit.
