It's small and intimate with a raised, open cooking area in the center of the space that gives it a feeling of an intimate home kitchen, but with an elevated cuisine. I had the wild trout gravlax sashimi with green apple puré, the summer gazpacho (tomato, roasted pepper, mango, watermelon, passion fruit), and a maracuyá Pisco sour. It was all amazing, service was fast and friendly, affordable prices, casual neighborhood vibe, good music and atmosphere all around. Really liked the personalized service and interaction with the owners. In my case, I didn't even have to leave the grounds of my hostel (The Domeyer) which shares a terrace with Awicha on a relatively quiet corner of Barranco, away from the heavy motor and foot traffic but still cuts right through the pulse of the district, with the Puente de Suspiros in view in one direction and the beautiful malecon above the Pacific just down the block in the other direction. Highly recommend this gem!

Wonderful little restaurant! Found it completely by accident looking for a nice option open Sunday evenings... The food exceeded my expectations! Everything tasted great, but the pumpkin dish with poached egg and soy and honey emulsion is to die for!
