The big pineapple is a landmark feature of an experimental pineapple farm. The structure is the worlds largest man made pineapple. It host 3 floors. 1st a gift shop and 2nd and 3rd pineapple farming and production history. The structure also host a viewing deck which was the highlight of the visit. Venue is need of an update and has a school project feel to it.. Gift shop was quite well stocked with treats and gifts.

Just about 13km from Port Alfred on the way to Bathurst town. You can't miss it as the huge pineapple is visible from the road. Bought some delicious fresh pineapple juice as well as some pineapple snacks. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice to see how the pineapple grow from beginning till end product.

Was cool to see how they grew. Other parts of the venue seem to not be in use. Kids play area, restaurants and pool no longer operational. Peacock walked the grounds.

Are you pining for a good time? Then it's time to visit The Big Pineapple, which sits in a gorgeous field just a few minutes drive outside the historic city of Bathurst. Larger than its Australian counterpart, this freakish fruit is truly awe-inspiring. With a well-stocked gift shop, an informative pineapple museum, and delightful views out over the South African wilderness, this is one Big Thing you don't want to miss!

Absolutely breathtaking views and a great place to learn about pineapples and the history about pineapple farming in South Africa. A must visit when you are in the area. Great place to take pictures and to experience the stunning views of the pineapple plantations and surrounding nature.

I enjoyed it, however the museum was very amateurish - looks like a local school made the exhibitions. But I will still recommend visiting at least once in your life - it is not every day that you get to visit a giant pineapple!

Easy quick activity. R25 gets you upstairs. Lots to read. And nice view from up there. So try their pineapple ice lolly/ice cream, great way to relax on a hot summers day.

The place is awesome. The lady there at the reception is very nice. Whenever the people providing a service are very nice, for me that wins me over. So nice job
