Every year, we transfer at least 35 percent of our revenue to state government, one of the highest percentages in the country. Around 53 percent of revenue generated by the Louisiana Lottery is paid out in prizes to players. Louisiana businesses benefit as well, with more than five percent of revenue paid to nearly 3,000 retailers that sell our tickets. Just six percent of revenue is retained to operate the Lottery, which is totally self-funded. In addition, the Lottery offers six draw-style games, including the multistate, multimillion-dollar jackpot games Powerball and Mega Millions.
