Absolutely brilliant opticians experience, especially during these testing times. The staff were really friendly and explained everything, didnt make a big deal about my misunderstanding things.

Brilliant service , Optician that looked after me was excellent. He explained everything to me and at the end of examination , provided glasses prescription to me without pushing me to buy glasses there .

Absolutely brilliant service. My 11 year son had 5 contact lens lessons with them. They were very friendly and patient with him.

I originally transferred to boots from Dolland and Aitchison (a few years ago) and initially Boots had a great team and provided great customer service. However, over the years the service provided by Boots opticians has declined as staff have been hired, but seem to have been provided with no customer service training (I once waited for 30 minutes to be seen and when I complained no one actually knew that I was there). I tend to enter Boots in a defensive state of mind with the thought of \how are they going to mess up today\. Even calling them via phone can be a burden (I once waited for 15 mins for an individual to answer the phone). Based on the above I have decided to move my business to an alternative Boots optitions until I locate a suitable optitions to transfer to. Would I suggest Boots in Bedford Town centre to a random stranger asking for my opinion.... Yes as some of the staff are cheerful and the bad service is a recent thing. Would I use Boots Opticians in Bedford Town centre..... No. The reason for me not wishing to use them is because (in my opinion) the service has declined to a level lower than I wish to tolerate. My advice to Boots would be to answer the phone within a certain time limit, train staff in active listening and good customer service, if you have staff who do not wish to be in Boots do not place them in customer facing roles and finally never stop trying to improve your service. Many stores have become stagnant and are quickly swallowed by Internet based shops or other stores who supply a better service. I myself will probably use a smaller independent store as it may cost more, but at least I will be treated as a valued customer.
