Hello, I support legalization and regulation of marijuana. As a parent, I think we should focus on education about drug use, and encourage young people to make smart, informed decisions about marijuana. But at the same time, I don’t think it makes sense to saddle someone with a criminal record because they were caught in possession of a small amount of pot. Frankly, the current drug laws have failed to prevent the use or sale of marijuana. The failed prohibition of marijuana has exhausted countless billions of dollars spent on ineffective or incomplete enforcement and has resulted in unnecessary and expensive congestion in our judicial system.
