When our 12 yo furnace broke down, they just started putting parts into it, with no consultation with us about cost or other options. 2800 later, our furnace works - but for 5k, we could have installed a brand new one

Sorry to report a MasterTech operator texting and driving today at the noon hour, April 8th 2020, navigating the corner of Forest Road and Lyngby Avenue in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I am uncertain whether he was lost, texting his boss or checking on social posts, but certainly this driver of a Mastertech HVAC and Plumbing van was deep in the throes of cell phone use as he cruised passed my dog and I. Operating a cell phone device while operating a motor vehicle is not only a worst practice, it is an entirely unacceptable practice for our professional drivers to be setting the bar in this way. Bonehead moves. Leave the phone alone! There's kids and families everywhere on our residential streets these days; we must all be more careful than ever before. I hope this review will serve to provoke a fleet-wide toolbox-talk in the regard of driving with great care. Discussion starter: Did you know that for the last two years Nova Scotia has averaged one traffic death every five days? Does anyone know why?

BEWARE!!! They will ask for a credit card number when you call to book an appointment. This is so when the job is finished - EVEN IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT-they can bill your card for the full amount and thumb their nose at you. They have no desire to ensure that the customer is happy prior to taking your money. I called to book them to install a condensate pump for my air conditioner. They told me approx 200. The tech showed up with no pipe or tubing and had to go back to the shop. He billed an hour (100) to do this. He then proceeded to charge me 115 for 15 worth of plastic tube. When I questioned the size of the bill (over 400) They said too bad and billed my card. They refused to negotiate on the total. I am retired on a disability pension and they said that they performed the work so pay up. Very disappointed.

had a propane furnace installed in 2013. we were charged for parts we did not need and they just left them here. for the last year [2017] the gas fan has gotten louder. we emailed for a service and enquired about warranty, the response email was that the warranty was 1yr and they dont stock or sell parts. terrible customer service for having spent 4,000 for them to do the work.

I read the previous review is surprised to see bad, I had problem with my furnace and spent money on other service companies for doing nothing. The service engineer from Master Tech identified the issue very quick and resolved in a reasonable charge.
