Animal Rescue Serbia (ARS) is the first official, non-profit and volunteer organization in Serbia dedicated to rescuing animals from situations where there lives are endangered and the access to the animal is difficult, risky, comlicated or dangerous. ARS rescues animals from situations when they are trapped in trees, holes, manholes, wells, frozen lakes, etc. It is completely independent group of people who have voluntarily taken upon themselves the mission of rescuing animals, because there was an evident need for it, and nobody was interested, willing and authorized to fulfill this noble task. ARS works professionally, responsibly and with respect to all laws and regulations. Practically, that means that all our rescuers have to go through special training within ARS for rescue from heights, depths and water. Entire work of this organization is directed solely on rescuing animals from life-threatening situations, where access to the site is difficult, risky or unapproachable by usual methods. ARS was not founded with the idea to become animal shelter, it will not engage in collecting stray and injured animals, finding lost animals or in similar activities that other organizations and individuals are already engaged in. ARS goal is, above all, to rescue all animals from dangerous situations in the shortest time possible, in a professional and organized manner, in accordance with all laws and regulations, and without financial compensation. ARS mission is not limited only to rescue; ARS also wish, through education of children, to secure better future and higher life quality for all animals, as well as to help shape a new generation of people who would be much more caring, loving and have more understanding for animals.
