I was out recently and was dismayed to see bales of hay (the horses looked in good weight) in the paddock area with twine still on and (not myself) when checking the other bale which the horses had picked through twine hidden in that bale also. None of this twine was cut and poses a risk to horses either getting caught up in it or chewing on it (rare). One of the horses had rather severe scratches that appeared to have been there for some time. Long untrimmed feathers in muddy conditions. This horse's hind leg (white one) was swollen and he was quite sore. The owner did not seem to be at all concerned but did say she would bath the horse with a medicated shampoo. The saddle pad that we had to use was filthy dirty. No clean ones appeared to be available. Filthy community grooming equipment was there for all to use spreading fungus and bacteria. Just some food for thought when considering boarding or taking lessons here.
