Since the inception of this organization in 1996, BDARRT now has a membership base of 40 qualified volunteers and has provided hundreds of hours of training exercises, and contributed its man power in many rescue missions—the recent 2010 Hurricane Richard flood in Belize for instance. Moreover, providing medical and rescue services, BDARRT volunteers its services annually for the ‘La Ruta Maya River challenge.
