This place is under new ownership. It is now called The Plate Factory. The inside has been cleaned up and given a make over. The food was delicious and served fairly quick. The staff is over the top friendly. The wife and I ate for about 60 and that includes the amazingly delicious Crab Cake appetizer. You could easily spend much more here. Interestingly though, they do not allow tips. Overall experience was great and we will definitely return.

We have eaten here on occasion and the food is typically good, but the help is less than desirable. Very chatty and noisy. Much to busy with their own agenda to tend to the customers. Last time I was there a server was eating in the dining room and was yelling at another server from across the room. I understand that good help is hard to find, but a little training and supervision would go a long way to making it a more enjoyable experience for the customers.
We stopped here on our way through town and were very glad we did. Crazy good ribs! Great service. I would definitely recommend you try this place for yourself.
Stopped in here last weekend while staying in Salado. The cheeseburger could not have been better...cooked perfectly and so tasty! The fries were excellent, and even the coke was better than usual. Excellent customer service, too. We talked to at least 3 employees, and all were very cordial and attentive. It was all positives!
Apparently we went on a bad night, Our waitress brought our food before appetizer and salad. We had to hunt her down twice to get our tea refilled and she did not offer any steak sauces with the steak. The steak was dry and not well seasoned. I guess she was a new waitress. The table was clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. I might try it again another time but not until I forget this time.
Friendly servers. The food was okay, but having processed cheese slice strips up on my chef's salad was surprising and gross. I would have expected real cheese on a 9 salad that was mostly Romain. At least is was Romain lettuce and not iceberg. The portions were moderate, but considering the food was mediocre, I would expect more as some type of compensation (good food smaller servings, bad food larger servings). The green beans were soft and squishy, like out of a can and not fresh steamed, the fried zucchini and jalapeno starters were dark, almost burned, not browned. Overall a disappointing experience, especially for the price.
I hate writing this as this place used to have outstanding food. Our last two times there everything was way overcooked. As a steak lover I always order meat cooked Medium Rare, but it was so overdone this last time as to cause me to lose my appetite. Unfortunately this was not the only thing wrong in our last experience, so I am going to go in order. 1. Ordered a pick 2 appetizer. Came out with 3 very small, obviously made from frozen cheese sticks, and maybe 10 small fried mushrooms that were also obviously frozen prior to frying. 2. The rolls were cold when brought out. These were very dry and had obviously been frozen after they were baked, then thawed and served. 3. My son's kids steak was the worst cut of meat I have seen served at any restaurant, much less a steakhouse. Judging by the amount of connective tissue it was trimmings from some other cut of meat. It was also cooked beyond well done, dry, tasteless, and unappetizing. 4. The "7 ounce" sirloin my wife ordered was at least medium well in the center, and beyond well done on the ends. I put the preceding in quotes because it was the most pathetic 7 ounces of meat I have ever seen served in a steakhouse. 5. I ordered the signature dish, a cut to order ribeye. Ordered medium rare, received medium well. Exterior sear was lovely, but the important part, the center of the steak was noticeably lacking in color. You know the color of a fresh, expensive cut of meat? Don't expect to find that here. I really hope they can get their problems figured out, but unfortunately I will not be going back to find out.
Best steak between Dallas and Austin for the price. I have never had a bad steak here.
