The short version? Horrible. Absolutely a horrible business that treats it’s customers like junk and only wants their money. They will not let customer service get in the way of keeping your money. Even if they can’t get you what you wanted from the start. I bought my fiancee’s engagement ring at The Goldsmith in downtown Bend, Oregon and she bought my wedding band there. I guess I should say she TRIED to buy my wedding band there. We were treated like we were idiots, overcharged for my wedding band by a gross amount, and what do we get in the end? A ring that I didn’t want and can’t return even though I still don’t have anything to show. My fiancee was sold a ring that was not only too small after they sized me but that was engraved with “SAMPLE” on the inside. Yup, they sold us a sample ring. Not only that but they couldn't even get us the ring we wanted in my size. When we were told they couldn’t get us what we originally wanted we said we wanted our money back. The Goldsmith tried to make us take something that was different and we didn’t want because “It’s really close to what you originally picked out.” They don’t offer refunds even if you order something and it’s not what you want. The best they can do for you is offer a gift certificate. They want to make sure they never let go of your money. The Goldsmith is still refusing to refund our money. We’ve opened a claim with Visa and the Better Business Bureau. Do yourself a favor and don’t deal with The Goldsmith or the owner Manoah Boutard in any way, shape, or form. It’s just nothing but bad news.
