Nothing has changed... Still hands down the worst staff experience. The facility looks good but the staff make the experience awful. Even my wife was blown away by the disrespect shown by your front counter staff.

When we arrived we were TOTALLY ignored by the staff for over 20 minutes!!!
Both of my parents are Touchmark residents and have lived in Indpendant Living, Attended Living and my mother is now in Memory Care. The employees at Touchmark have gone out of their way to make this time of their lives happy and healthy . My family is filled with gratitude for Touchmark , it’s amazing staff as well as the other residents that live there.
I had a terrible experience with Touchmark. But like everything my parents' experience was a mixed bag. The staff and the caregivers were awesome. My parents loved many of the staff at Touchmark and they went out of their way to help my mom and dad on a regular basis. The caregivers went above and beyond, especially for my mom. The cooks and servers were great also. If this was a review of staff, I would have given 5 stars! The management, however, was not so great....Like many large corporations, the bottom line drives everything from price, to services offered, and willingness to accommodate the challenges of aging people. The most upsetting event was when they requested that my mom move out of the assisted care wing a few months after my dad died because her level of care had increased so greatly. They claimed that they were not licensed to accommodate her needs, so she would have to move her to a new facility. This request that was probably illegal under Oregon law (I now understand in talking to State). Moreover the phone number listed in the Assisted care wing for the Ombudsman (state appointed person who will advocate for elderly) not valid and was not a real person. Moving my elderly 86 year old wheelchair-bound mother into a new facility was not the way I was hoping to spend time with her in her last year. The stress of moving to a new and unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people probably hastened her passing. Touchmark markets themselves as place to move when you get older. A place that will accommodate the transitions older people face when aging. They claim to take care of you as you age, with a assisted care wing, an memory wing, home care aids, etc. You'll never have to move again, they claim. For my aging mother this was not the case and added stress and difficulty to an already challenging situation.
I just spoke to a dear friend of 60 years, she moved from the Motion Picture and Television Home in Woodland Hills, Ca. a couple of years ago to Bachelor Village. She loves it there and has nothing but wonderful things to say about her surrounding and the staff. I plan to travel from my home in St. George, Utah to visit her soon. B. Nilsson
