It's the biriyani fest at "Carnatic" folks. Thoroughly enjoyed the lip smacking briyanis, my favourite was Guntur biriyani though. They have quiet a commendable menu of traditional cuisine. Our table executive Sai was quiet courteous and helpful.

Excellent restaurant very delicious authentic food. Must visit place as the concept of the restaurant is very good. Many have reviewed the restaurant saying the food is served very late but it was quick and fast. The Thali combo is also very good. Open till 4 am on Friday and Saturday. Overall a good dining experience

Phenomenal World

A new place called Carnatic has popped up on Church Street. Lovely decor with Indian tradition paintings and a soothing music in the background sets the theme. They have an interesting menu of all the South Indian delicacies. What I went for was the biryani festival which is on going. 8 different kinds of biryani across various South Indian states from the ever popular hyd biryani to the Mandya pullao to the thalapakatti style from Tamil Nadu. We were welcomed with a musk melon panakkam and refreshing buttermilk. The starters saw a fiery Andhra chilli chicken with raw heat from green chillies. The favourites among them biryanis was the mandya pullao and thalapakatti. Brilliant.! Ending with a coconut mousse and obattu. Absolute fun !! Biryani available for rs. 149 till the duration of the festival (31 Jan) Thanks Monk Studios #phenomenalworld #carnatic

The Carnatic region is the region of peninsular South India lying between the Eastern Ghats and the Western Ghats, in the modern Indian states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh. Carnatic , The restaurant has hand-picked some specials from this region and added to their menu . Must Try : 1. Mutton Pepper Fry (Karnataka Style ) 2. Rava Fish Fry ( Coastal ) 3. Special Biryani of the day 4. In House Made kulfi Ambience : Warm & traditional . Beautifully Handpainted Ravi verma paintings on the wall. Service : Waiting time is less . Service good . However ppl who are new to the Cusine require to be recommend and explained to a bit better by the service staff is my observation . Food : The menu is quite vast , it took us a while to decide what to order . Starters : We started from the Karnataka section with some Mutton Leg soup & fry . It was simple and nice . A little more spices in the soup and fry would have been nice Then we ordered Mutton Menassu Fry (Pepper fry) again from the Karnataka section . This one is really yum. Also ordered a small portion of Anjal tawa fry . Good option if you like coastal food . Mains : For mains we ordered kothu Paroto and mandya style biryani. Kothu parota is a speciality from tamil nadu , this was ok and the portion size quite large . Not all Biryani types is on their regular menu so ask for it as they do different styles every day . We had the Mandya Style Biryanni – More like the Donne style . This was great and do try it with side of Andhra style chicken chilli. Since we were full we moved to desserts . Desserts : In House kulfi & coconut mouse The kesar Kulfi was refreshing , very home style Coconut Mouse was served in a coconut shell and the interesting bit was it came with a layer of biscuit powder and sugar crystals. Reminded me of Nice biscuit . If you like coconut order this . Overall : Perfect place to get the glimpse of this regional cuisine in blore.
