2 stars because I did like my food. We arrived a little after 5pm on Friday evening and the place had less than a half dozen guests. Ir took 1 hr to get our appetizers and an hour and a half to get our food. Mine was the only meal out of 4 in my family that said I liked the food. We gave it a shot. Lots of buzz about the place and it looked really promising. Did not live up to even marginal standards. Took 2hr from entrance to exit.

Known for using organic, local meats and veggies In their food items. Full bar. Restroom is located near food prep area. Some unique menu items. Pizza, sandwiches, pasta, calzones, desserts. Moderately expensive. Daily specials. Long wait after placing order and they were not very busy at the time. Waitress not overly friendly. I paid in cash and they did not have any change and it was like "oh well....i don't have another dollar to give you" .....

This place is a bit difficult to review from a single try. The F2T and sustainable culture conflicts with the ubiquitously disposable and mostly non-compostable dinnerware. We ordered added Arugula on a pizza and got lettuce. The beer selection was limited but had a local gem. The pizza was really tasty but extremely cheese heavy and very slightly soggy. I think that I need another try or two to come up with a comprehensive recommendation but the immediate impression is that it might have moments of greatness but you need to wade through some not great to find them.

Pizza was excellent. Service slow. Drinks were good. Great hike just down the road in Bottom Creek Gorge.

Stopped to grab a quick bite for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful our lunch was. I had the cave ripened bleu cheese wedge salad with crispety bacon and freshly made Bleu cheese dressing. My friend had the chicken salad, which was equally scrumptious! The place itself is simply decorated and the location on a winding country road is worth the 15 minute drive. The fare is locally sourced, fresh and absolutely, unexpectedly delicious! We are already planning our next visit. There is also a mercantile close by with locally sourced goods and crafts, but we didn't have the opportunity to check it out.

I thought this place was very good. I am very impressed with how good the food actually is. I have went here 5 times now since I just moved over here and I love this place.

We live 45 minutes away and have loved the food here for several years, so we didn’t mind the drive. Unfortunately, the service has much to be desired. How long is too long to wait for service? Unfortunately, tonight ended our trips up the mountain to enjoy dinner. The food is so good but we’re not going back. No excuse for how we were neglected the past two times.

Wonderful food but you’ll wait for it. Pizzas are the best in the Roanoke/Floyd area. Just don’t go when you’re in a rush and you’ll be very pleased.
