A traditional and typical style wet market plus a hawker center. It is a small sized market catered mainly for locals. Prices are slightly below average market prices and the produce are in general very fresh. You can get fresh chilled meat, vegetables and fish but no beef or lamb. Next to the wet market are two rows of hawker food stalls and the there are different kinds of Chinese, Malay and Indian stalls. The food are decent and good but none of the stalls would be considered as exceptional.
Good place for authentic hawker fare.. but most shops are closed in the afternoon.. so if u wanna try good food, come in the morning
No signboard curry rice. Been here so many times that I don't get tired of the curry-drenched rice with crispy pork chop and soft cabbage. The pork has has the fragrant of fermented bean curd and deep fried till crisp like biscuit. The next door Happy Oven is worth a mention. The Kaya cake, Bailey chocolate cake and ondeh ondeh cake is really good. Must try it if u come for the curry rice. It's just next door.
Best curry rice. Delicious fried pork cutlet presented in crispy thin pieces. Squid otah and fried prawns are worthy of mention. The curry is the highlight. Old and gold
Small Market cater for the community, but clean and well maintained. Not much variety of Food to choose from. Self Sufficient for the Community.
Had amazing hainanese curry rice BUT the wait was really long. Typically the queue starts forming at abt 1130am. Worth the wait, yes!
Lots of good food, good locations as this is an old district, many old folks live here. Very convenient for them to dine in and buying groceries in this market.
