Arrived in Tegel airport. Went to the info counter and got a 4 day ABC zone pass for 37 as I wanted to visit Potsdam on this trip. I was able up one it on all public service. S U M and buses. Plus i did get discount from several museums I visited. Just stamp once when you are getting the first trip and then keep in your pocket.

Discounts are really not that interesting and in order to use them you always have to go to the desk clerk. So you end up queuing for hours to save 1 or 2 ,w those who don't have a card but their tickets from the Internet or at an automated machine and can enter straightaway.

The Berlin Card is well worth the money and gives you the freedom to explore this wonderful city.

Its sometimes good sometimes no saving. If you are travelling mainly with public transport remember a day ticket is aprox. 7-8 per day. Entrance is reduced a little. If you are a student it wont pay off due to better student discount without the card. If you are a family it might sometimes pay off. Kids less than 14 are with free transport. However, sometimes the Berlin Welcome card reduction gives a worse price than paying a family ticket in the entrance. Conclusion: It's convenient when using the public transport. But you do not save anything on that compared to a day ticket. A typical saving for a sight is 10-20%. So a entrance of 10 might now be 8. Unless the family ticket is better, then you save nothing with the card. We were 2 adult and 1 kid at 11. That combo saved us good on transportation since kids are included for free. But we rarely saved euros on the entrance fees due to family ticket. If we were 2 adults we would just buy day tickets. So you better spend half an hour to figure out what 5 main attractions you want to see, how many you are - and then decide!

Very useful, informative and convenient: public transport is included, along with numerous discounts for museums and city attractions. It's very easy to get it online. However I recommend the hard copy for your first visit as the pocket (printed) brochure that comes with the ticket is quite handy. I already bought the Berlin WelcomeCard on 3 different occasions, to be able to move around freely and at a lower cost, with my friends who came for a short visit. I highly recommend it.
