This Japanese restaurant is all about curry and tea. No sushi or other mainstream stereotypes to be found. Came once for their tea ceremony (which I highly recommend) but I am very glad I came back for their curry. They have a lot of possible combinations available to suit virtually all dietary preferences, but they also have pre-set menus to make it easier to choose. I really enjoyed their refreshing tea infused drinks. Great value for money considering their prices and their portions (they have the option to make the dishes extra large for 3 too just in case).

Great place to have some nice japanese Curry. I LOVE that we can add more toppings and that there morerice options. Even your vegans friends can come as they also have vegan option. Tea is also lovely
Takenori prides itself on being the only Japanese curry house in Berlin. Nothing more reminds me of home, so I was excited to see the offering. And to be honest, its just good. Firstly, as you can see in the picture, there’s not much curry. Not sure if this is because they are trying to be elevated or they are just tight, but the rest of the plate didn’t warrant this. I would love a thick, smooth, medium, yellow-brown, slightly sweet bucket of curry poured over my sticky white rice next time, please. No strong boullion flavour with no tartness to balance. Pork Katsu lacked that crunch and saltiness you dream of at night. Overall, it’s fine for someone who isn’t seeking anything more than a Japanese curry. Maybe I expect too much?

Really delicious curry. I had the vegan dry curry which was an excellent choice. They have a wide variety of toppings that you can choose from to customize your curry. The dessert was also really nice and unique. Not to mention the affordable and refreshing cocktails they offer. Definitely a winner for me and I will come back soon.
