My father-in-law had a meeting with Mr Berry, in the company of my wife. He told them that getting a mortgage would not be a problem and left them feeling positive. After making an offer on a house we found out that things was not so positive. Firstly, Mr Berry made an application for a mortgage and based part of the application on current earnings as well as pensions. The application got knocked back because of his age. Surely Mr Berry should have known this being a mortgage advisor? Then he claimed to ring other companies to find a mortgage. We chased Mr Berry over many days to which we was told he was waiting for a telephone call. Well this telephone call never came! Mr Berry set the sale of the house back by about four week to which the vedor became upset with the wait and almost put the property back on the market.
