I ordered an ARE MX series truck cap from Bert’s Truck and Equipment in Moorhead, MN which was installed on December 8th. When I picked up my truck, the truck cap and installation looked good, although I could not see the top, due to the height of the truck cap. A day later, I notice some marks on the roof, several gouges and scrapes running the length of the cap. Needless to say I was upset by the lack of care taken by Bert’s to handle the truck cap properly. After contacting Pete, my salesman, I was informed that they would have to send the cap back to ARE to be refinished at the factory and I would be without my new truck cap for six weeks. Today (Feb 19th) I was able to get the cap reinstalled on my truck. Unfortunately, the cap had been stored on the ground in Bert’s gravel parking lot with the rear hatch door wide open facing traffic for the past ten days. This resulted in the interior carpet liner and windows being covered in dirt and gravel, which I now am left to clean myself! I will say that my salesman, Pete did get the ball rolling on getting the cap repaired. Where he fails is not returning my calls when I would ask for updates, I had to constantly keep trying to call him back to get answers to my questions. After months on inconvenience and trouble, I have an expensive truck cap, which had to be repaired and now is filthy (I want to stress, I purchased a NEW customized top of the line truck cap, not a used piece of equipment). The obvious lack of care and concern showed by the installation/service department is disconcerting, and the real kicker is that this happened not once, but two times (you think they would make sure I was 100% satisfied when I picked it up the second time). I cannot in good concuss recommend Bert’s Truck and Equipment in Moorhead, MN. I have owned ARE products in the past and will probably purchase from ARE again, just not from Bert’s.

Great guys to work with here. We need these guys for our mobility lifts in our buses. Can't wait for them to get mobile truck service going.
