Castle Butte is one of my favourite places in Saskatchewan. I used to try to visit every year and a climb to the summit was always the harbinger to summer for me. The views are exquisite and the flora and fauna is unique to this area. It’s a fun outing for everyone so I highly recommend visiting. Please be respectful to the land and cattle in area and remember that the butte is closed in April and May for calving season.

Huge sandstone butte. The trail up is steep and can be dangerous. Wear proper shoes. The walk around the butte is fine.

Such a great landmark to visit in Saskatchewan! Can be a fun hike to explore caves and natural carvings in the stone. It can get very hot so bring water as there are no utilities near by. The drive there is also along gravel roads so make sure your vehicle is prepared!

There was literally no information available at the site. We struggled to find a way up. Tried different caves and eventually realised that we had to take the main route. This place has the potential to be a great, if it is maintained properly.

About two hours drive from Regina. Need good shoes to climb up to the top and torch/light to enter the cave.

Great! About two hrs drive from Regina. Must go up to the top and get in the caves (At your own risk) it’s doable.
