I contacted Tourné seeing if they could provide a road bike to go out of Bilbao and checkout the wider area for a few hours. Aitor helpfully recommended BizkaiRoute but as they are not based in Bilbao they would charge minimum 2 days hire (2 x 40) plus 45 delivery charge or 125 for a bike and guide for 3-4 hours! This seemed very expensive so I went back to Aitor at Tourné and he said I could hire a Mountain Bike for 25 for a day, so I went for that. I saw Johan in the shop who was very efficient and helpful suggesting a route. I highly recommend heading out towards Las Arenas along the river (I went on the north-eastern side but you can go the other side too and go over the Bizkai bridge. From there I kept going through Algorta and found a nice clifftop path and headed inland to Sopela. I went up the climb to Unbe which was actually ok on the MTB! I found the MTB needed a little tweak to the gears which I fed back when I returned it. I realise Tourné is mainly geared up for city cruising but would be good to have a couple of road bikes available as I'm sure there would be demand if advertised.

I had a good street bike. When I was forced to go off-road, into the mud, I felt safe on it. Many thanks to Tourne's personnel, especially to the lady (taking a look on the website, I think is Laura; if I'm wrong please accept my apologies - I strongly believe that the whole \crew\ is great) who assisted me in renting, advising me and sharing lots of information. She deserves 10 stars out of 5, if possible.

Had a great tour with David, he’s a very energetic and fun guide! Covered a good amount of the city and learned a lot about the recent history of Bilbao and the Basque culture. Very leisurely pace that anyone capable of riding a bike can handle.

We had an amazing time, David took us around Bilbao at a leisurely pace, explained the history of all the places, showed us nice places to visit and spend time.. Finally, in the end he took us to a nice restaurant and bought us Pinchos! :) Overall, it's amazing! I would definitely recommend!

My husband and I literally looked for a bike tour this morning and stumbled upon this gem. We were staying close to the stadium so it was a quick ride on the subway, just two stops away. If you have GPS on your phone, this location is pretty easy to find. The tour for us was 32 per person, and it was well worth it. The ride is casual and you get a great history about Bilbao and get into the specifics about day-to-day life for people here. Our tour included a pitstop at a market, and it included a drink and a pintxo, which we thought was pretty cool. The tour lasted about three hours, and our tour guide was fantastic and very engaging. We highly recommend this tour for those who are checking out this city, probably before you do anything else so that you know what's where and when to get into places for free!
