Nice hike for friends and family. Not intimidating at all. You can pay cash or there is a QR code that allows you to pay the 5 dollars.

Beautiful and rather easy walk individually or with a family. My wife and our daughter went together. I carried our baby girl, and she walked for a part of it. She would walk much more if she could walk by herself, but being less than a year old and still having to hold on to us for her to walk, she did great! She enjoys walking and this was a great opportunity for her to walk with us together. Around half of the trail is a sort of gravel walkway/road, the other is a much more narrow foot path along the forest. Both were easy even considering the significant elevation, primarily in the beginning. Overall elevation change was under 800 feet. 1 mile going up, and the mile coming back obviously being downhill. It's a gentle slope and almost unnoticeable when walking at a regular pace. Something to note: there is a parking fee. See picture.

Theres a lot of little paths you can go off and check out different things. The cemetery was smaller than pictures made it to look but it was cool to see. Will definitely go back and explore more again.

Unmarked trails!! Super super easy to get lost... We were lost for over 2 hours with 3 kids.. It is a decent hike but after going wrong direction for so long it ruined it for us... Also finding headstones were super fun but challenging.

Partially maintained. No water access, but cool to see old gravestones and mining equipment

I am reading a lot of complaints about the 5 fee. The fee is for the river trail and the green river gorge resort owns the property that goes to the waterfall and hot springs. If you are being asked to pay to go to Franklin kindly tell whomever no thank you and park at the Elder Cemetery that's down the road on the Black Diamond side if the gorge. Or even on the side of the road if the gate is closed.
