This place feels magical! Beautiful space, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, awesome yoga shala! Make sure to go zip lining and see the cathedral waterfall. We loved our time here and can’t wait to come back again for a yoga retreat.

A beautiful 4 hotel! Clean, spacious cabins, surrounded by the most wonderful variety of lush tropical plants. I was beautifully surprised by the incredible display of birds and flowers. Take a walk through the carefully maintained garden paths, admire the many species of hummingbirds, butterflies, and perhaps get a glimpse of the shy sloths. My family and I stayed here 2 nights. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. We did the tubing tour on the river, a lovely adventure with our Tico guides. In all, I found this to be an authentic little corner of Costa Rican paradise.
What an amazing place to stay. Comfort in the rain forest. The cabins were large and clean. The grounds were amazing. It is so beautiful - we saw Toucans, a large hummingbird area, a peacock and many other birds, turtles, toads. The small horses were fun to see. Everything is kept so nice and lovely. The restaurant was yummy and didn’t require too long of a wait. I would recommend this place for anyone visiting the area.
Very good restaurant, really good music at night, very welcome and talkative waiters. Food was ok, we ordered garlic bread (3 stars), churrasco (4.5 stars), onion soup (4 stars), house wine (4 stars), calamary (4 stars) Breakfast is really good (4.5 stars) (gallo pinto is really tasty in here) the pools were nice, the place itself is really nice and surrounded by nature... Amazing choice to be in nature, with hot springs, gardens, water slide, and great tours (Santuario Waterfall, Horseback riding, DinoPark, etc) we definitely will return.
Pro: nice big cabin style rooms. Nice cement walkways between rooms. Con: 1 No wifi in rooms. 2 bugs and birds wake us up at 5am, but breakfast starts until 7am (other resorts often start 6:30am) 3 The grounds of the resort are very run down: all hummingbird feeders empty, no sign of caiman, and ponds didn’t seem to be kept in great condition (they do require maintenance to reduce algae and have proper water filter/flow) as they were filthy, pergolas falling down or completely on ground. In short, not as advertised. 4. In-room safe didn’t work 5 At checkout, they charged our credit card a 2nd time even though room was prepaid. 6 cost through Expedia was roughly 140 more than advertised combo on fb that included Dino park. 7. Cost of a beer and soda was 7
I stayed 2 nights in the middle of July. To get there, you need a 4x4 because the roads are not paved. It is a nice area but you cannot go in any trail if you don’t pay any of the hotel guides because everything is “private property”. I took a tour that was supposed to be 1:30 hours, going and coming back from a waterfall, which ended being shorter and only one way. Charging the same price. The Dinopark is a nice tour to do with kids but is not worth paying 25 dollars. Thermal pools are nice, but not all are perfectly clean (understandable because of the trees). The garden and butterfly garden are nice but not well taken care of (lack of paint, tree trimming). In 3 out of the 4 beds we had, we found long brown hairs. They changed our rooms but we ended finding new hairs in those bedsheets as well.No excuses. Overall: Not worth the price they charge per guest.
We saw a wild sloth climb down from his perch high in the trees and cross the path 5 feet from us and then climb up another tree on the other side. We saw a group of Toucans tear apart a whole guanabana in one hour. Blue River is not as fancy as some CR ecolodges but it is a great experience for a couple of days.
Very nice place to stay. Clean, comfortable, quiet... Pet friendly.
