Just attended an outdoor concert here and I thought the facilities were great. Sat behind the walkway in low chair seating, view was excellent because there are tiers stepped into the sloping grass. Sound was also excellent. I expected a mob scene like Shakespeare in the Park on Boston Common but was pleasantly surprised to find a nice sized crowd, probably 90 percent of capacity. A little bit of a walk to restrooms but they were indoors and pretty nice for a park. Interesting food choices, nice setup for about seven tents with street vendors and public service groups.

We went to see Boz Scaggs. Boz and his band were fantastic. Great musicians, awesome solos and performance. The venue, although very nice setting, isn't managed that well. They sell more tickets than the park can hold. People were four deep out on the sidewalk. The park itself was absolutely jammed with lawn chairs. Apparently, you can set up your chair early in the day and then leave it there to eserve\ a seat. When we arrived over two hours early for the concert, the place was already full with empty chairs and blankets. So you have to set up out on the sidewalk. Not a pleasant experience for the money.
I am at Boarding House Park for the start of the FREE 2019 Lowell Folk Festival. Everything is fabulous. This is probably one of the very best places to be over the next 3 days. There are five stages throughout the city. Many streets are pedestrian only during the festival. Lots of civic groups sell great ethnic foods for good prices. A nice meal can be purchased in the 10-12 range. There are 23 different acts performing. The weather forecast is decent. There are artisan demonstrations. Kids stuff. The only reason I can think someone wouldn't like this is if they don't like being around a lot of people. The variety of music styles is incredible. If in doubt, check out the website. Everyone else just come ASAP.
I love the Lowell Folk Festival each July. Music at Boarding House Park throughout the summer and fall is a great way for the greater Lowell community to share something good. Parking is close by and affordable.
Great place for an outdoor concert with a parking garage very close. The Lowell Summer Music Series has great groups. Last night we saw The Mavericks!
