Thoroughly enjoyed my first trip to the Boerne Soup Kitchen today! The location has a spacious outdoor patio under shaded trees and there is plenty of room for parking. The staff was very friendly and accommodating in making a selection from the menu. The restaurant rotates their selection regularly and it entirely gluten-free. I was served plenty of food and after cleaning my plate I felt full, but it didn't feel too heavy on my stomach. Will definitely be going back!

I went at 5.30pm so a weird "between" time of day. It was cold and wet but the only hot vege soup was Black Bean (not inspiring so I skipped it.) Ordered a main meal instead - Grilled Trout. Food was freshly made to order from fresh ingredients. For my taste a little bland and the fish skin was very dry. Grilled Okra was great. Rice was inedible. (Mixed rice does not work when the white is cooked as long as the wild rice.) A bit pricey for counter service. They especialky need cheaper wine choices. The Community Soup board was overfilled with givers; they seem to need more takers. Will give it another try.
I am visiting the area and never stop by chain restaurants when I'm out to eat on business or vacation. I found this absolutely fabulous restaurant. It is a Great place to eat!!! Wonderful homemade soup and appetizers. I had Chicken Caribbean soup and it was delicious as were the Brussels sprouts with Parmesan cheese. Kathleen (the owner I believe) was working and very welcoming and friendly. I found out we are both nurses. She let me sample the Buttermilk Peach soup, and it was a delicious cold soup, almost sweet enough to do as a desert. I will return when I'm back in Kerrville at the end month. It is worth the drive. I can't wait to try their entrees. They also had a very good selection of wines. Everything is fresh and homemade. Please stop by and support a local restaurant.
First let me say I am a burger and fries guy. My wife asked if I would like to join her and a friend for lunch, I agreed. Checked the menu before leaving and wasn’t sure how lunch would turn out. I was impressed with my order. I was schooled, this was a great meal. I had a salad and soup. The croutons in the salad were exceptional, I’m also a crouton guy. The soup was very hearty and filling, it was seasoned well which gave it great flavor. I forgot what my mom told me long ago, try it first before judging. I went in knowing I would not be filled or satisfied and came out with a new appreciation for a different menu. I will go back based on my visit. Understand this is a unique menu, go in with an open mind, you may be surprised.
Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing atmosphere. I don't know what else to say! We aren't local, but if we were, I would take advantage of this incredible dining experience frequently. Loved it! Thanks for serving us!
The food was delicious! And great customer service. The owner is great, she also make delicious bake good
Lovely focus on the heart of food. They source quality ingredients and keep it healthy from start to finish. They also have a wonderful mission to help those in need with a meal. It's easy for people to share when its cheap, but much more challenging when it's expensive. The BSK generously shares the very best they have- Quite the examples for others.
A great spot in Boerne to enjoy a delicious, nourishing meal and an opportunity to share back with dignity for those in need. Got to be one of the nicest patios around under the shade of an old oak tree. Perfect to share a bottle of wine with a bestie. Do it!
