I went to this school, and while there are some less-than-exciting rules (one-way hallways, for instance), the education is the perfect foundation for your high school career. The administration is the weirdest combination of trying too hard and not trying hard enough. They put all sorts of rules in place, and instead of enforcing the rules when they're broken, they add more rules. Students at this school, just know that high school is better, but for now, this is your foundation. Middle school is preparing you for high school in every single way. Don't roll your eyes when your teachers lecture to you about making good choices because the choices you make now lead to the choices that you make in the future. Also, you may think that your grades don't matter in middle school because they don't count towards your GPA, but having the right mindset when it comes to grades is very important. If you build lazy habits now, it'll be hard to flip that switch in high school.
People will tell you to join band, but trust me, choir is better because 1) you don't have to practice at home on your own time, 2) you get to make a sound that is just as cool, if not cooler than, the sound that band makes, 3) it all comes from your very own respiratory and muscular systems, 4) choir, just like band, gets to go to Six Flags, 5) you can't play the trumpet in a foreign language, but you can sing in a foreign language (While I was in middle school, I sang in French, English, and Latin, and another choir class at the middle school sang a song in German.), 6) choir is a super cool family, and 7) seventh and eighth grade girls who prove themselves to be hardworking and skillful singers are placed in a separate class period called "Advanced Women's Choir," which goes to UIL.
