The creative and contemporary menu features fresh regional ingredients—everything from half-pound “Brewhaus” Akaushi Beef or Bison Burgers to Grilled Sausage Plates with soft Bavarian Pretzels and beer sauerkraut, to the award-winning “Heart of Boerne” Salads…and MUCH more.  Tasty Vegetarian and Vegan options are abundant, too!   The Dodging Duck’s delicious fresh craft beer is brewed on-site in a 10-barrel copper-clad brewery, and piped directly to the taps mounted inside in the wrap around bar, where customers gather to talk beer with Ian the brewer (or talk Boerne with the locals!).  Complimenting the delicious craft beer is an extensive international wine list, and a variety of locally sourced Texas craft ciders.   Listen & dine to great live music on the patio stage most evenings! The beer was good. Service was great and friendly. The pretzel was great as well as the sides of mustard. I love a spicy mustard with my pretzels. The fish and chips were delicious! Perfectly fried and a good portion. The fries were good too.

Food taste was not all that good and it took a long time to get waited on after we were seated (12 minutes) and at that I had had to flag down another server to ask for help. The beer servings were small not normal sizes like you see in other full service restaurants. Also having just 2 single customer uni-sex restrooms meant a line up to get in.....its cool they are on the river but thats all I can add as why one would want to eat there.

We really enjoyed our fish and chips, bison burger and venison burger. The pretzel and sausage was a great way to start, and everything was washed down with root beer, fresh limeade and of course a couple house-brewed beers. It was a cold day but we were cozy under a heater inside, and it was fun to walk along the water afterwards and check out all the ducks!

Went here for lunch on a weekday with my husband about 2 weeks ago. We liked it. There is a lot of outdoor seating which is great. Nice view of people walking toward downtown and others just walking along the river. Server was attentive. Order the fried tomatoes appetizer. You won't regret it but you might regret sharing. There is a table set aside on Astroturf for families who bring a dog. I ordered the fish and chips plate. It is a huge but delicious portion. They gave me 3 or 4 very large pieces of fish and lots of chips. Will be back to try other items.

Great food and service. We appreciated the text message when our table was ready, and the quick and courteous service the whole time. Social distancing and masking by staff was observed and respected as well. I really enjoyed each of the brews in the sampler, while the sausage and entrees were great. Highly recommended!
