Pundra University of Science & Technology started its initial activities in January 2001at Thengamara, seven kilometers away from Bogra City, beside Bogra-Rangpur highway in Gokul. It achieved the affiliation from the Ministry of Education in December 2002, and the Vice-Chancellor of the university was appointed upon the approval of the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh for a term of 4 (four) years in 2003; and in the sametime, the president, too, started to act as the Chancellor of the University. The academic activities started in May 2003 in a village namedThengamara with five ICT related subjects under two faculties.
