My wife and I felt like American food on a Friday night and discovered the Indiana Cafe near our hotel on the internet. The homepage stated that there was a continuous service from 8.30am to 11pm there. At 6pm we were there and they told us to pick a place in the empty restaurant. We did and immediately a waitress came to us, but told us that the kitchen would only Open at 7pm. We then left the restaurant and informed staff in advance that we will come back later. On the homepage there was no reference to the opening times of the kitchen. Still, we decided to come back an hour later, as the menu promised delicious food and the place looked very inviting. So we went around a bit hungry and were back at the Indiana Cafe shortly after 7. The interior of the restaurant (about 60 seats) was still completely empty. Only outside, some people were having beer and cocktails. The waitress we had talked to before came right to us, acted as if she had never seen us before and informed us that tonight everything would be fully booked in this huge empty place. Surprised by that, we reminded her that we were there an hour ago and talked to her. Now she did not pretend to have seen us before and told her about having just received instructions from her boss. At this point I would like to point out again that we were two (!) persons who just wanted to eat something in one of the largest cities in France in a completely empty restaurant. Shocked by this treatment, we then left the empty huge restaurant. We can only speculate about the reasons for this treatment: do you not want to serve people from other countries or is this place populated by a mass of invisible guests? We will never know. But apparently the restaurant does not need additional guests in its empty rooms. So let's not bother the lords there now and in the future. You have enough customers and can afford to fool tourists like us!

Accueil quelconque.
