Caring for a Cure is located in Boston, United States on 125 Nashua St. Caring for a Cure is rated 3 out of 5 in the category fund-raising in United States. Caring for a Cure was founded in 2011 by oncology nurses at Massachusetts General Hospital with a mission to ease the journey and uplift the spirits of patients and families through research, resources and awareness. In 2019, Caring for a Cure surpassed the ONE MILLION dollar fundraising mark. These funds have been used to fund supportive care research, build a program to support young adult patients and support social work programming. The foundation of this program lies in our gives, which have reached thousands of patients. A give: “A caring act, big or small, designed to (1) ease the burden of our patients and their caregivers or (2) acknowledge the challenges our patients and their families are going through.” Gives comes in all forms from grocery gift cards to fill an empty fridge, an overnight in a hotel for a family of a patient unexpectedly admitted to the hospital, a respite spa day for a mother and daughter and park passes to Disney World to make sure a young mom had the chance to see her son meet Mickey. The funds raised have been directed to things both big and small – from flying in a bone marrow donor from halfway around the world, to sending caregivers out to dinner, to impromptu celebrations of anniversaries and birthdays unexpectedly spent in the hospital, to making sure new leukemia patients have real tissues.
