If I hadn't been with someone who already knew about this, I likely would have missed it. What you are looking for are silver metal things that look like a handhold that stick out from the green railing along the lock. My friend told me to run by and hit them as I went, so I did. Not sure how it would sound going slower, but at a slow jog it was delightful :)

Lots of sketchy people in this area. It's very isolated. The bells sound nice, but be warned!

Really cool art installation, easy to miss

"The Charlestown Bells" by Paul Matisse, installed in 2000 and restored in 2013, brighten my walk across the New Charles River Dam as I play the tune.
