Botafumeiro didn’t exactly translate to a seafood heaven this visit as I was promised by many. The ingredients were indeed exceptional with good execution on the dishes. Shellfish canneloni were to die for. Everything else was approaching basic grandma dishes. The server who took the order was especially good at making you feel uncomfortable for not dropping 200 per person with his condescending gaze and tone of voice(but then again, who cares about customers like me right?) Luckily the server who waited on our table for the rest of the experience was quite exceptional and very easygoing.

The reputation is valid and after been coming here for years, for business or just a private dinner, I keep coming back. Yes, it’s high end prices, but it’s a high end place. The cold shellfish plate is a must. For business dinners I recommend to get one of the private rooms, it gives just the right atmosphere for a dinner where you want to be able to discuss more private.
Top 3 places I've been my entire life. The service, the atmosphere and the food are all of excellent quality.
Luxury ambience and interior decoration. The food is perfect and waiters know the menu inside out and are very hospitable. They even indulged us with dishes not on the menu. We had the famous fresh tomato paste on crispy fresh bread. We had a lobster salad to begin with which was very good. Then we had the typical fried calamari which was also made to perfection. Then we had the grilled shrimps with garlic which was just perfect. The lobster was the main attraction. We had two full lobsters weighing a total 3.3kg (for 3 people). The lobster was super delicious. We then split a paella dish which also came with lobster, which we thought was an overkill. We also had a dish of sauted potato with onion and tomato which was excellent. I only gave a 4 star rating because we felt the waiter let us order more lobster than we should and because the waiter from the night before said the meat served was halal whereas our waiter tonight said it wasn't.
AVOID if you have high standard for seafood! I'd give it a zero if I can. Ordered the grilled seafood platter, only to find the food not fresh nor grilled... Visiting from the States, I was expecting something different than the Boston steamed seafood. But what I received here tasted very similar to what I had before, only of a poorer quality. Can’t imagine I paid 145 euros for this! And got charged 5 euros just for the water? They also tried to charge me 3.5 euros for the bread i didn’t order and would assume is complimentary. Not to mention the poor service we received. Our server ignored my four attempts to ask for the check, leaving me awkwardly finishing the “Excuse me”. Please learn from my lesson and don’t do this!
What a great place!!! Like travelling back in time. Interior and staff, amazing. Service, top notch. The food is top of the line. Great portions and taste wonderful. Really really worth every penny! In my opinion, not expensive for the amazing quality and amount you get.
seafood restaurant - one of the best. took the hot mix for a couple. excellent food, very fresh, Hugh amount. atmosphere very nice. staff very kind and helpful. price a bit high - but deserves the food.
This is a gorgeous place to have dinner and to spend a wonderful evening! Seafood patter was so delicious! We were so full but couldn’t refuse to eat deserts! It was fantastic! But who really made our evening was a waiter Janathan Levy. Oh my god! He is the best waiter with the best service ever!
