We recently worked with Ethos Geological to collect a variety of data for a large-scale stream restoration project, and they provided fantastic data, quickly, and with utmost of care to ensure the products met our requirements. We needed topographic data for a very large area (\u003e9000 acres) to design the project and complete the necessary analyses for permitting. The team from Ethos (2 people, including Zac Collins) were able to collect very high-resolution photogrammetry data for the entire area in under two days, and delivered the data to us within three weeks of collection. The specific products they delivered included a 25-cm resolution digital terrain model, 25 cm contours, a high-resolution orthoimagery of the entire project area, digitized stream banks, digitized roads, and videos of the drone flights. The error associated with these products was very low (\u003c10 cm, max) It’s hard to over-state the value of these high-resolution data products both for the design components of restoration projects and for communicating with clients about what the current condition of the watershed is, and what they can expect it to look like after the project is completed. Having contour data for the entire valley bottom, rather than merely cross-sections, gave us a much richer picture of the terrain we are working in, and the addition of the high-resolution orthophoto has helped us improve site selection and visit prep while off-site. The team at Ethos worked closely with us to ensure the products met our needs and have offered a variety of post-processing options to tailor the data resolution to the models we are using.
