Booked a 12 day car rental via enterprise.com over the weekend and received confirmation. Took taxi to collect on Monday morning only to be told no cars in stock. They couldn’t call to let me know as not allowed to call international phone numbers. Also didn’t get time to email! Very disappointing for an international and so called reputable company. Will stick to Avis in future.
Booked a van on a Friday for Monday pick up at 8am at Bracknell branch for business use. The confirmation was sent via email 2 min later. At 8am, 2 min away from the branch i received a phone call from the branch informing me that they don't have a van! This was very unacceptable given the fact that i had a large wine delivery to do by 11am! Called head office and the response i got was: 'What do you want me to do about it' and the operator hung up on me! I had to call again a log a complaint - they claim to get back with a response within 48hrs. It has been more than a week and no response at all! Very unhappy and of course will not be using using them again as a company!
The company appears to raise their hire charges the closer they get to the weekend. The Bracknell branch was not permitting customers into the building, Good thing it wasn't raining on the day. I hired a van for a house move and was made to book a medium sized van which was not fit for purpose in my view. The company indicated that I would have to collect the van at 08:00 and return it at 17:00 the same day. All this for a princely sum of 185:00 before adding additional drivers and other costs. I ended up in another local vehicle hire company by chance and hired a Luton van for 104.00 to be collected at 17:00 and for return the next day at 17:00. It was a no brainer; I went for the second deal without a second thought.... Enterprise can and does provide a professional service with a wide choice of vehicles and locations for collection and drop-off; however, for a friendly, personal touch at amazing rates..., one may have to look elsewhere.
