This is the worst hospital I've ever been in. I was on Bowling Ward and most of the staff didn't care or understand BPD properly, especially the support workers. The only person who cared and treated everyone nicely was the ward doctor. The therapists were very intelligent and kind. The OT staff were mostly horrible. You're forced to do all the groups you pick and if you miss any it goes against you in ward round. It takes months to get any decent amount of leave signed off. They dont positive risk take hardly ever, just negative all the time. It's like a prison. They keep you inside for months at a time if you're even a tiny risk. People go for a year and end up stuck there for 5 years. It was like a living hell. Avoid at all costs!!!

This place helped me recover. Ive been here over a year and a half and it's kept me safe in times of distress. The therapy they offer DBT and other types of therapy are extremely helpful and are some things that the NHS hospitals don't provide. The staff are friendly and it's a well monitored environment. Secure but friendly.
