The Chipshop used to be Henleys but now has definitley established itself as Johns of Braintree. There were times standards were inconsistent. The chips are now always freshly cooked, soft and consistent like proper old school. We have cod that is always nicely battered and tasty. Staff are polite and friendly please keep up the good work. Mr Williams

The Taster

Chicken was nasty, really nasty. Staff are polite but not very switched on and I've been in a few times just to be sure. Ordered a large battered sausage and small chips, got a small unbattered sausage large chips. When I mentioned this to the staff member they told me I hadn't ordered what I had but changed the order anyway without charge so pleased about that.

Wow, havent been in a while but found great food at good prices, we placed a large order and the food was ready as promised, we dont live close but the food stayed hot, great customer service, these guys are great, many thanks we will be back.
