I had my skates sharpened here before my high school tryouts. I got to my tryouts and stepped on the ice and was sliding all over the place. I had come to realize both the inside and outside edges of my blades were completely gone. I was unable to participate in my tryouts. Will never get them sharpened here again

Great variety of goalie gear, good prices, and above all else, helpful employees. One gentleman assisted my for about 30 minutes in order to fit pads correctly. Can't say enough about Pure Hockey.

Knowledgeable staff, good store, but focused on hockey so FIGURE SKATERS BEWARE! I am a recreational figure skater. As in, I have the skates with the toe. I had them sharpen my skates this week, and while the edges are awesome and I’m gliding so much faster (larger radius this time), they might have unintentionally flattened my rocker and added a (very small) bit of a curve to the very back of the blade. At my current level, I’m not doing jumps, so it’s not that big a deal. However, If you are advanced, don’t have them grind your blades on their hockey blade machine. I didn’t realize until afterwards that I should’ve been more careful due to the different blade shapes. Oops. Again, not a major issue at my skill level. When I get to the point of doing jumps, I’ll get them sharpened by a figure skating place. Pure Hockey works in a pinch, but in the long run their hockey-oriented machine isn’t the best for your figure skate blades. They did a great job, but the machine probably had presets for hockey skates. Nothing bad on the store. They are advertised as a hockey store. It’s my own ability not to think things through thats the issue. Convenient though, will probably use them again if I must. But I’ll look into other sharpening places too.

Always the best service and they have everything. You might find something a few dollars cheaper somewhere else, but they are outstanding.
