I spoke with B.F. from the medical underwriting department about the company’s decision to deny me life insurance and she unfortunately was unable to answer any of my questions including why I was denied, who I could speak with about my concern (no one in the department was reportedly available or qualified), how long the policy had been in place, and if others with my (healthy) profile had also been denied. Since she was unable to answer any of my questions, I asked if I could raise my concern with anyone else-the medical underwriter who made the decision to deny me life insurance, supervisor, the Board (basically anyone), to which she chuckled and said no. I didn’t consider my denial a laughing matter and found her response demeaning and disrespectful. While she was unable to answer any of my basic questions including the reason listed on the denial letter, she was however able to confirm that I had been irrefutably and permanently denied life insurance with Voya. As a working professional with a postdoctoral degree, I found that statement demoralizing. During our phone encounter, I noticed a lot of red tape. My overall experience with Voya today was extremely disappointing. Voya’s lack of transparency raises many concerns, especially about its ethical practices. Ironically, Voya is listed as the “World’s Most Ethical Companies in 2019,” but I don’t see how denying a healthy person life insurance is ethical. Perhaps its denial process should be further investigated for clarity. Perhaps the decision making process is biased towards certain folks?
Terrible. I sent in 2 money orders to pay a balance . And they weren't accepted because of two words that weren't written on the orders... I KNOW MY COMPLAINT DOESNT MATTER AND WONT SOLVE ANYTHING BUT THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. THANK YOU TO SHJUANA WHO ATTEMPTED TO RESOLVE MY IMMEDIATE ATTENTION SITUATION . A KIND WOMAN AT HEART. Upper management however, IS TERRIBLE
