You never know if you're "in good hands" with your insurance company until you have a claim. After several years of making my payments to Country Financial, I found out just how indifferent, unprofessional, inefficient and incompetent this one is. It now appears to be nearly useless having coverage with Country Financial. This I am learning after my 86 year old mother got into a car accident. It has been exactly three weeks to the day since the accident. My agent has not been heard from in more than two weeks, despite my desperate emails to him regarding the rude behavior, inattentiveness, and general lack of urgency or concern I've experienced from his company's adjusters. The adjuster assigned to our family had failed to provide the rental vehicle we were told was on order until I got very angry and persistent on the phone. This same adjuster has a voice mail message saying she will be out of the office until November 30...which was almost a month ago. The person responsible for picking up the car from the junkyard has not done so, despite having called me to say he would two and a half weeks ago while behaving rudely and insensitively in the face of my mother's suffering on the phone. There has not been one single update from anyone about what they plan to do in response to our claim. The car payment on a totaled car is now late, despite them having almost a month to process our claim. This entire company seems to run by a collective herd of deer just staring numbly and uselessly into the headlights of my injured mother's reality. With thousands of agents and hundreds of other insurance companies in the Chicago area to get your insurance from, there is absolutely no reason to consider getting it here. Terrible company, terrible service, across the board, with every representative of Country Financial. If I ran my own business this shoddily, I'd be sunk. Not sure how an insurance company can get away with this lack of professionalism.
