At the beginning we were a bit afraid of going to the emergency at this hospital because other reviews warned about the lack of English speaking staff. However in the end we were quite pleased with the treatment. Let's start with the negative points first: the parking lot was more than full. I parked the car half on the sidewalk in a zone you weren't even allowed to stop. There were other cars parked in the same way, so I supposed I wouldn't get a fine which turned out to be true. Then we waited for two hours until we could see a doctor. He spoke no other language than Spanish and communication was very difficult. We described and translated what we could into Spanish and I wasn't sure if he took our concerns seriously. But he did. After the first examinations he just packed his stuff and a very young doctor took his place. That was the point when everything turned out very positive for us. The new doctor spoke just enough English to be able to talk to us. After a while we felt in very competent hands. He did exactly the examinations we were hoping he'd do (taking blood, taking an EEG and an X-ray) and explained the analysis in detail. When we explained him our medical history, he knew and understood the preconditions and even made smart connections between the incidents. (We had to wait for the results for 90 minutes so that was a bit of a set back). To summarize: we can only recommend the hospital! Don't be afraid if you speak no Spanish, the people are very helpful (even other patients were nice). But make sure to plan a full day for your stay and take enough water with you (we couldn't find any water dispensers) and take warm clothes because (except in the emergency waiting room) it's quite cold in the hospital.

The staff is committed to cure the patients, they were friendly and professional at the same time. The receptionist and the doctors spoke a little bit of English. It only took very little time to locate properly my husband's broken wrist. It was also only just a little while before my husband got out, diagnosed and all. Thank you!
Dangerous hospitaal for tourists. Personel at the telephone should be fired for bringing very urgent sick people in to life thretening situation. If you don’t sprak spanish they hang up the phone after 1 minute. I allmost lost my daughter due to these people at the desk. I had to drive myself to this hospital to get answors and help... still they were very unhelpfull at the desk. No body Speaks English, German or French. When you use Google Translate they don’t want to help you. If La Palma wants to have tourist on this Island they should do something about this right now.
Terrible hospital. These people dont even speak english! They are very onproffesional and dont want to help or listen to you. When i tried and talk with a translater on the phone they hanged up the phone and the doctor walked away. These people are very simple minded and not humane at all!
Creo Que La Forma De Trato De Urgencias Fue Atenta Amable.,Y Ahora Puedo Decir Alto Y Claro Que E Estado Ingresada Dos Veces,Una Me Hicieron Un Reemplazo De Cadera Y Jamás Pensé Que Aparte De Mi Madre ,Nadie Me Atendería Así De Bien,Solo Puedo Decir Que FUERON y SON En Mí Caso Atentas, Amables Y De Verdad Siempre Pendientes Del Paciente,Se Que Hay Casos Que Por Que Hay Demasiados Pacientes ,No Pueden Atender A Tod@s Como Queremos,Y Como Profesionales Ante Lo Poco Que Tiene El Hospital Deberíamos Ser Más Condescendientes ,Y Yo Me Subo Al Carro , Porque Quizás Si Yo Fuera Más Tranquila Y No Pensara En Mí Caso Sería Más Fácil Para Todos, Pero Eso Lo Piensa Uno Cuando Ya A Pasado Y Gracias A Dios A Salido Con Salud,Pero Otras Veces U Otros Casos Sé Que No Son Iguales ,,Solo Darles Las Gracias Por La Paciencia Que Han Tenido Y Que Sigan Dando Ejemplo De Su Profesionalidad.
