Tried to adopt a puppy. Filled out the application and online and received an email from Hannah asking about vet references. I sent her the information straight away and NEVER HEARD FROM HER AGAIN. I have emailed her again and nothing. The puppy I wanted has been adopted to someone else. This has been a horrible experience....

The staff take great care of the pets here. Very impressed. They know the pets history. Visited the cat room, which is huge, clean, has lots of toys, beds, & many levels for cats to walk on & tuck into. Enjoyed the visit.

They’re absolute garbage as far as customer service goes, blatantly rude, uneducated and over priced. They can’t answer simple questions, emails, or phone calls. All the dogs posted for adoption are not all available you go inside to see skinny dogs, and 3/4 of them are not allowed to be adopted to an unknown reason. Each worker there that I met deserves to be fired based off how they try customers, and I can only assume they treat the dog there worse. Saw one lady today yanking on a dog that wasn’t even pulling and pulled the dog to the ground. Very unhappy with what I saw and believe they should be investigated and stripped of their licenses. Looks nice from the road but inside is a different story.

Briggs truly sets the gold standard for pet adoption centers and I cannot say enough good things about them. I adopted \Gonzales\ (now Bandit-Gonzales) in April 2012, and took great pleasure in volunteering there numerous times when I lived in WV. I appreciated the thoroughness with which they screen prospective owners. Given the evil people do to animals, (one poor little dog had cigarette burns all over his face and neck!) I was NEVER offended by the questionnaire, interview and short home visit prior to adopting little Bandit-Gonzales. They do this to be certain the animals are going to good, safe, forever homes! I certainly wish they had the same vetting process at the local shelters here in SW Florida, where sadly, any low-life can walk in and adopt. Kudos to Sandy, Jim, and the entire staff!
