Booked a table for 3pm for a meal via group on which was a wedding gift. We live an hour away. Online says the bar opens at 1pm. We arrived at 2.40pm and it was closed. Called the mobile number on the door to be told they would be opening at 3. Went back at 3 to be told by the lone chef that they weren't open yet. We said we'd travelled an hour to get there for a reservation at 4 and we had been told it would be open then. The place was filthy, if the tables on one side of the room hadn't been clean we would have walked out. Floors were filthy, on the other side of the room empty glasses and bottles on the tables. The chef was lovely and went out of his way to accommodate us. The food was nice. Could not thank the chef enough for salvaging what he could of our gift! Funny enough the manager never turned up!!!! He will be hearing from us!!! As will group on

Bar du Vin is good for a few drinks on a night out. Has lots of seating including several booths, a small dance floor and nice sized bar in the middle of the space. Decorated is a bit outdated in my opinion despite this being only a couple of years open. Open later than some of the bars on East Street.

Disgusting. I asked for a tap water at closing time because I was dehydrated and I also have learning difficulties. It took me a long time to drink the water and one of the staff threw it away and told me to go.
