I love playing with Footy. I've played for nearly 2.5 years now and I can honestly say that joining was one of the better decisions I've made in the last 5 years. Some highlights: -I moved to a new city and was able to forge some great relationships with teammates and other league participants. -Met my girlfriend through Footy. We've been happily together for a year with no end in sight - even when I take losses hard ;) -Traveled to India with her and another teammate for his brother's wedding. We even had a chance to play with his academy in India earlier this month! -All while staying in shape for fun! Highly recommend and looking forward to playing in future seasons!
best soccer league in NYC! The people are great.
I've been playing soccer in competitive amateur adult leagues for 10-15 years. I've been playing in New York for 8 years. NYC Footy is easily the the most enjoyable, fun, friendly, well organized, and generous league I've ever played in to the extent that it's difficult to go back to other leagues after spending time playing NYC Footy. It attracts good people that want to win but ultimately want to have a good time. I've never been in a league where it's possible to build such a positive relationship and connection with both teammates and the opposition. Also... the organizers play in the league and are actively involved in every aspect of it. The referees are friendly. The league jerseys are high quality and not cheap t-shirts. The professional team photos every season is a nice memento that I haven't seen in any other league. The cost to play is one of the most competitive in NY. A few times a year the organizers will throw free parties for everyone in the league with free food, drink, music, and the money they raise in the raffles at these events goes to charity. I have never seen anything like this in NYC or elsewhere! Soccer in NYC has been my the most positive sporting experience of my life, and NYC Footy is easily the most positive soccer experience I've had in NY! Highly recommended to anyone that loves to play, meet new people, and have a good time.
The NYC Footy crew is an AMAZING blend of people who care about soccer and love this city. The founders are awesome guys who have a great eye for good design and fun events. I played for years and years. Now in “retirement”, I hope they’ll let me stay on their email subscription list because I love the events and seeing them open up new fields and leagues.
