I was advised by RyanAir to hire a car via Hertz or Thrifty in Ireland. I booked a car at a seducing rate with Thrifty. I discovered that both Hertz and Thrifty are sitting under the same roof. Whe arrived to pick up the car. They had to "lock" an amount of 2.500 euro's on my credit card. This huge amount was a warrant. This didn't work initially because most credit cards are limited. The thrifty desk officer proposed to take an extra insurance of about 20euro/day. OK, I had to agree otherwise no car. Suddenly, the desk officer managed to block the amount of 2.500 euro. no need anymore to contact my bank for an increase of the limit on the credit card. We were happy, no extra insurance cost... at least that's what we thought. When we returned the car, we got an unpleasant surprise: we should pay an extra 81 euro's ! ...contacted the customer service of Thrifty, they responded very lately. There answer was "you accepted the costs, so you'll pay them". Check out the internet for more reviews about "Thief-ty"
