Super nice, kind doctor with great bedside manner! Staff is very caring and accommodating. He is qualified as a cataract and glaucoma (and cornea) surgeon but makes you feel like he is just a normal person who is lucky to do what he does. Saved my vision, couldn't see the cellphone in front of my face before surgery. He did cataract/glaucoma surgery and Now vision is 20/20 in both eyes without glasses and my eye pressures are great. Doctor is humble and gives credit to the patient for their success. Talked to another patient in the waiting room who also loves this doctor. I have had a lot of doctors in my life. I would recommend him to anyone. He is the best!

Dr. Shanmugam (Dr. K) is a fabulous surgeon and and one of the best doctors/surgeons I have ever met! He is empathic, extremely kind and loving, always smiling, has a laser like memory, and never forgot to ask about me or my family, even when he had a busy clinic to attend to. We considered him as part of our family after a while. I want to acknowledge the great care and patience he showed in me in performing complex glaucoma surgery on me when I was in a scary situation, and I truly believe he saved me from blindness. I have known several others in my community who have either had cataract surgery or even cornea/glaucoma surgery by him, and they are all so equally passionate in their love for this doctor. I wish I could give him 10 stars. I will always be grateful to this energetic, bubbly, and caring physician for taking such good care of me and my family. May God Be Always With Him. Dr. Shanmugam (Dr. K) is a fantastic surgeon and even better person. He came highly recommended by several doctors and his other patients. My mom has had numerous surgeries with other ophthalmologists for other conditions which left her only remaining eye with a need for a difficult corneal transplant surgery. Dr. Shanmugam was the only surgeon qualified to do her transplant. He explained the risks and benefits in great detail, and after he observed her for awhile, we decided to proceed with surgery with mom's consent. Her sight has improved so much after 2 months that I am amazed to see her seeing things that we had previously thought impossible. Other corneal specialists have subsequently commented on the precision of his work. He spends time with his patients and never makes you feel rushed. He also makes you feel like he is on your team, and makes you comfortable. We thank him so much for what he has done for our family, and there is no doubt he will be a fabulous doctor in Bryan/College Station, TX.
