Been a few times, set out well with the covid restrictions. Customer service as usual was excellent. Excellent starters but the main was let down by over done haddock and under cooked chips. Didn't complain as overall we enjoyed our evening. The fish coming out after ours all looked good.

Review for restaurant only. Really nice food. The steak was fantastic, as was the fish and chips. Very child friendly with good kids menu (there is even a swing set outside in the garden). Interior was Homely, simple but clean.
No one to help us check in on arrival so had to go looking for a staff member. No tea making facilities in the room(but strangely enough a hair dryer)The Blue COO Bistrot was a revelation. No heating so the diners were certainly blue with the cold. The helpful young waiter took pity on us and fetched a small electric heater from his car.Unfortunately it didn’t work! The food was only marginally warmer than the ambient temperature in the room at dinner and breakfast. We chose to eat elsewhere the following evening to avoid being chilled to the bone again. A beautiful area, glorious weather but spoiled by a rather disinterested manager ,although other members of staff we encountered were cheery and very helpful.Come on guys, forget the “distressed look” decor and look after your distressed guests. The exterior of the building is lovely-time to bring that look indoors.
What a find this was, after touring round the Highlands we were looking for a place on the borders to cut our journey in half on the way home. So glad we did, great beer garden, we had dinner, which was also top notch. The rooms were nice and fitting for an old building, queen size bed, and eggs royale for breakfast. Again what a great place. 5 stars, definitely.
Had a Smoking Coo Burger, tastiest burger I've ever had by a long way, amazing. Can't recommend enough. Quick edit the dessert was stunning as well.
Bath and shower gel secured to wall which is ok until you are sitting in the bath and it's completely out if reach. No hot drink facilities in room though we did have a selection of cobwebs in room. Breakfast good. Evening meal pricey and not outstanding. Bed, big and comfortable. TV minute. Overall, overpriced and a let down.
Lovely place, but couldn't recommend it for a breakfast stop. Distinctly had the feeling that not many people stop here for a breakfast, seemed put out when being asked if they did serve. Didn't feel particularly welcome. Breakfast menu was disappointingly lacking in options and expensive for what is on offer. Sausages, however, taste absolutely fantastic. Overall I wished we had stopped elsewhere.
