Well for one, I never got a chance to meet the doctor since this was my first appointment so, I can’t give my review on her per say. I’ve been searching for a while to find a female dermatologist of color and was SO excited about my appointment. When I arrived, I went to the front desk to check in and of course due to COVID, I was told to wait in my car and someone would call me. After 45 minutes of patiently waiting, I called the front desk to follow up on where I stood because, I noticed another patient was called in before me even though she arrived 30 minutes after me. I was told I was next. After an additional 30 minutes of waiting, no one came to look for me nor did I get a call so I decided to leave. On my way out, I called the front desk again to let them know that I was leaving and to take me off their schedule. The receptionist expressed how sorry she was because she thought someone came to get me since my chart was pulled... great communication between staff. Then I was asked if I wanted to reschedule... seriously.... as a new patient, this was by far the worst experience.

It is great to be a women of color and have a dermatologist that understands my skin. The staff is friendly and professional. The doctor explains things very well. She is thorough, she did not rush through the exam. I was telling my husband about this awesome dermatologist in Buckhead and he said I already found one I forgot to tell you, her name is “Sherrie something”. Guess what....it was Dr. Sherrie-Ann Straughn. Thank you so much for great care.

I just wanted to post regarding my visit with Dr. Straughn. Most of us that have a pleasant experience never post and the reviews get overcome by unpleasant experiences. After my visit today, which was the 3rd time in 4 years that I’ve visited, I continue to encounter a pleasant staff and a spot on Doctor. Truly appreciate the thoroughness of the Doctor. She listens and she’s patient, but she’s also direct when it comes to taking care of yourself and your skin. I truly appreciate that. It was by luck that I found this office. It was the closest office when I lived in the area. The staff positively engages with me from the time I enter and until it’s time for me to leave. My experience each time is 5star and I will continue to tell others. Everyone’s has a different experience, after multiple experiences mine has been consistently pleasant. Almost forgot, my co-pay was 35.

This review is WAY overdue. After an Extremely Positive visit with another Dermatologist recently I realized I should have written this to prevent any other potential patients from this doctor. She lacks bedside manner and maybe the skills and/or knowledge to help. My course of action was one lacking any results when she could have immediately done something different. (my conclusion after visiting my current Dermatologist). I don’t know what prevented her from handling my situation like my new Dermatologist maybe I was protected from a more negative outcome. I realized after 2 - 3 visits I wouldn’t go back. It took nearly a year to get the courage to see another doctor after my NO results outcome and a painful session which made me question if she knew what she was doing. Please avoid this practice.
