Tried calling to ask a question, but no answer, no answering machine. I understand maybe short staffed due to COVID-19, so decided to send an e,ail, as was suggested by a staff member a couple of weeks prior, when or phone call didn’t get answered. Email sent Thursday afternoon/ evening, waited until approx 4:30pm the following day Friday, no reply to the email. Went into the store, asked the store clerk why the email wasn’t answered, she looked blank and said she didn’t know about the email or if the earlier employee had checked. I asked if she had checked to see if there were any emails that needed answering when she started her shift, once again blank look and answer along the lines of I don’t know. We wanted a deck stain, were ready to buy a stain, we told the store clerk this, but said we needed information on the types of stain finishes, felt that the information we were being given was very confusing, and the store clerk was not comfortable answering any of our questions, and was not given us any information that we had any faith in. We asked the price of the stain, she had to go look, after giving us the price she went off to serve another customer without another word to us, we left he store. Very poor service. Decided to go to another Benjamin Moore store just down the road. Excellent service, very knowledgeable, gave us the information in a clear and concise manner. Purchased it from the 2nd store. Mapleview you have lost us as a customer after approx 10 to 15 years. I don’t think this is Covid related as we understand the complexity of working under the restrictions, this is the lack of knowledge of the staff member who was the lone employee when we were in the store.

Greeted when we came in and then ignored for 20 min while she helped a couple figure out how to decorate their entire house. We were obviously ready to buy paint. When they started discussing fabric colours we left (and even then she didn’t even look up) and went to the store on Fairview at Cumberland. Served immediately.
